19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an better service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent defended four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
