The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to protect the Britain's grassroots music venues.

He was awarded the cheque on October 16 as his new release his work was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.

He has chosen to hand the money over to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I personally couldn't be pursuing this success if it wasn't for all the shows I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," remarked the artist. "These locations are iconic, but they are in difficulty."

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately 16% of the entire UK sector.

Recently, top acts like Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Fender also took part, generating in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to help numerous local spots across Britain.

The donation helped spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges arising from water damage, fires and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Additional spaces obtained funding support in upgrading facilities and gear that directly benefitted artists and concertgoers.

"The idea that revenue from performances in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just logical," the star has said.

He is not the first artist to give his award prize money to worthy causes.

When the band won the trophy in the year 1996 for their album Different Class, vocalist the singer announced that the group would donate their cash to the charity War Child.

In 2002, artist she shared her award among a few charities, including the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"And I contributed a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they required new equipment," she shared with outlets.

Two years ago, Ezra Collective contributed their winnings to the youth organization that developed their band, alongside other independent music bodies.

Additionally 1994 winners the group gave their prize to a multiple sclerosis charity after a close contact was diagnosed the illness.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," remarked artist Small. "The money was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the cake. So our winning touched somebody else's life."

Last week, the MVT announced it had rescued two grassroots venues in that region, by transferring them to community ownership.

The first in the city and The Croft in Bristol were bought under the Own Our Venues program, which is supported by Arts Council England and supporters who purchase "shares" in the properties.
